Application made by three Bangalore-based college students to detect counterfeit drugs from mobile applications
Often news is read that counterfeit drugs are caught from the market. Therefore, when buying medicine, there is a doubt in the mind that the medicines we bought will be genuine or fake. To help this problem, three students of RV College of Engineering, Bangalore, India, have created an app called Drugsafe. Microsoft also gave the app a prize of $ 15,000 (approximately 10.28 lakh rupees).
What the App works
- Drugseep examines the composition of app drugs and in a short time it is said that the drug is genuine or fake.
- By this app it is also known that what makes a special medicine company.
Except compositions, Drug Safe App also checks drug batch, location, blueprint and reliability.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology has been used in this app. This technology also examines the smallest designs of app-drug packaging and design as well as the original packing and original design of the original manufacturer.
